Once again updating after months.... For Week #24 Prompt "I smashed the flowers on the footpath" For my Didun….. She had an uncommon ability To tread gently. A unique art. It requires a soft nature, softer than What is trodded on. She hopped and skipped past And brushed them softly away A nature of a monk. Tenderly she collected them In her open basket of old cane Only those that had fallen Never tearing the ones attached Still throbbing with life blood. She urged us to join her But we were young and silly With rudimentary wisdom But as we watched her and when The play of the conch stirred us We remained still for a while. Inescapably time caught on She grew very old from pretty young And senile from always agile And as though all those delicate forms Of all those years had seeped into her soul She was fresh to be trampled on. For Week #25 Prompt 'Cliches' (This poem won the 2 best rank and pleased me of course :D) Settled / सेटल्ड फर्स करो सड़क नहीं चट्टा...

Week #22.... begin and end with the words "I surrender" I surrender t o the shape of the clouds a horse, a dragon and a flying heron… and when the thunder rumbles over, to all its animal sounds. I surrender to this upside down house, this chore of straightening, the trip and fall over the cricket bat, scattered trump cards on the floor, and as I slowly lose my cool the innocence fired, from sundae faces and chocolate eyes. I surrender to the mistiness in your eyes, your strength to make this sodden trail up to my broken heart, as I note the inequities, accept apologies and let you care for a change. I surrender to this society, trying so hard to stand still with its weight of sin for every 20 savage, 20 cowards, and 10 drunks raising the stink those 50 humane, upright, aware of their burden but rising still. I surrender To this world, to its beauty, its animal, birds and plants, from the one celled amoeba to the breach of a blue whale, from the han...

........that I find myself struggling with. Prompt #19.... Write on 'Uncertainity' Certain/Uncertain The road to certainty, winds along through curves of uncertainty at every turn. When words won’t behave and gather up straight, You are certain to write but uncertain when. That we are all born human as science can prove, but many lives shorn of humanity, if only we knew. The longing for the summers is true of winter, that the summer would be a breathless grey gloom of squalls, and starless black nights, nobody knew. That friendships were so fine, and my poems odes there would come a day when my chipped heart would rise cavalier through the ashes of my closest bonds. Where uncertainty remains the only certain, and you are certain the empty nest would visit you too, finally you are powerful in owning and peaceful too. ____________________________________________________________________ Prompt #20 ...Waiting A depiction The opera of the garden reac...

Again weeks have gone by since my last post. Here i post a few poems written in the previous weeks in response to APM Nation Prompts' 100 poems challenge...... Prompt #16.. viewing the world through reality distorting lenses The Reign of Peace People moved about in a flurry The town square was being prepared The bill was passed only yesterday The majority vote was for total and complete annihilation Love was being publicly executed It was charged of multiple transgressions And finally convicted on three grounds Distorting reality Imaging people as larger than life And claiming to conquering all happiness, it’s by product, was rendered the biggest scourge, the allegation, it stopped all motion Hope had been given up long back Surprisingly the faces were no longer sad They had wanted it all along Now things would be smoother Perfection could be bred in laboratories No more the cacophony in playgrounds no more the annoyed old ears But falling like a projector light, a...

Prompt - Write in the form of a recipe Living @ 40 This ones easy. The 30s was a shocker, top of the hill, all too early, but it’s aftertaste makes the transition easier. First, perforce take a stock of your wide and varied accumulations of love, hatred, regret, health, in a few cases wealth and maybe the salt and pepper in your hair. Next begin with generous doses of friends and family, who by now are a lot easier on the eye t han before and must be kept close at hand as required binding agents to the rest of the upcoming forty. The larger the space in the heart, the better it is to process all the emotions with spoonfuls of warmth. That is the fire, that is the pot, that is where most of the burning and cooling will take place. In the process the mind subtlety enlarges and thoughts get clarified. W...

So, I joined the Airplane Poetry Movement, mid-April, for this year. It involves writing 100 poems in the whole year which is great. The fact that I get to write is a good part, the better deal is reading amazing poetry by some wonderful voices. April is the month of Poetry as well, so the NaPoWriMo challenge was in full swing when I joined midway. Written below are all the poems that I wrote in response to the prompts received (about 13 I think)! Promise to myself to keep the blog updated and my disappearances minimal! #15 (write on nothing prompt) I enter a world full of challenges to an introduction of nothing. It pleases me It is the way I see the world It is who I am. By and by I will gain something. And restore everything. #16 (Write a letter from the last thing you threw away to the last thing you purchased prompt) Hello there, you bowl of boring fruits Hope the day is treating you right, And you are being savoured And not left in the platter with fle...

The Household In the realm of the household wreckage needs to be fixed almost every other day, when a washing machine breaks down or when the purifier calls it a day quite so often the pipes leak, often enough the hot water has its elemental problem and when all is fixed, restored, controlled, and you think works done, the wreckage of human life need repair.
